Animal dramas ?
Encounters with animals strutting their stuff on the streets of Dannhauser, will be a thing of the past, thanks to a new animal pound soon to be opened.
The animal pound will be situated next to the Municipal Dam on Tweedidale Farm. Mr S Naidoo , Community Services Manager stated that the purpose of this development was to “enforce bylaws of the town.” This will inevitably lead to the eradication of the plague of stray animals wondering around the streets of Dannhauser.
Mr Naidoo also said that “should any animal be found in town or residential property, they will be impounded”. This statement should bring relief to residents who were previously bothered by this problem.
Though building plans are still in early phases of development, motorists and members of the community cannot help but rejoice. Motorists believe this will prevent potential road accidents and hazardous damage to motor vehicles. Some members of the community commented on the fact that this will lead to less obstructions to motorists, while others stated that this development brings ‘hope’ to residents as they will no longer be burdened with ‘nuisance cows’ trespassing in the vicinity of Durnacol.
