Ichthus learners excel on the field and in the pool

The officials, swimmers and spectators were blessed with a lovely sunny day.

Cricket: On Wednesday, February 12 the Ichthus U/13 cricket team played against Glencoe Primary School, at their field.
The Ichthus boys played an excellent game and won by 11 runs.
The best batsman of the match was Jan-Frederik van Zyl of Ichthus, with 52 runs, and the best bowler of the match was Vukile Buthelezi of Ichthus, with four wickets.
Ichthus would like to thank Glencoe Primary School for the challenging game of cricket.
Ichthus Gala:
Ichthus held their swimming gala on February 13 at Dundee High School’s pool. The officials, swimmers and spectators were blessed with a lovely sunny day.
Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated. The results were as follows:
Best U/9 girl: Zandisiwe Maphalala; best U/9 boy: Kwanda Mazibuko; Junior Victrix Ludorum: Anél de Goede and Amy-Faith Stein; Junior Victor Ludorum: Sam Maltman; Senior Victrix Ludorum: Christinet Zaal; Senior Victor Ludorum: MacGreiger Stein.
The winning team of the day was the Green Team, who obtained the most points on the Grenfell table.
The Blue Team was awarded the spirit trophy. Well done! Ichthus would like to sincerely thank Dundee High School for the use of their facilities.
Ichthus trio excels at KZNCSSA Gala:
Three of Ichthus’ swimmers participated in the KZN Christian Schools gala in Durban on February 15.
Fourteen schools from KwaZulu-Natal participated in the gala, and at the end of the day Ichthus ranked seventh, with only three swimmers from Ichthus participating. What an achievement!
Congratulations to MacGreiger Stein and Amy-Faith Stein, who both won gold in their age group, and Sam Maltman, who won silver in his age group.
Their results were as follows:
Amy-Faith Stein (girls U/10): 50m freestyle – first; 100m freestyle – first; 100m breaststroke – second; 50m butterfly – first.
Sam Maltman (boys U/10): 50m freestyle – first; 100m freestyle – second; 100m breaststroke – first; 50m butterfly – first.
MacGreiger Stein (boys U/12): 50m freestyle – first; 100m freestyle – first; 100m breaststroke – second; 50m butterfly – first.
Well done to the trio, who have qualified for their KZNCSSA colours!
