Robbed of cigarettes
Police found the car abandoned in one of the streets in Sithembile
Police are on the lookout for two male suspects who robbed two men at gunpoint and made away with cigarettes worth about R300 000.
It is alleged that the two men were delivering cigarettes to a shop in Sithembile on Ndumeni Street last Wednesday when two armed men confronted them, ordering them to get out of the van and get inside the store. They locked the two delivery men, along with a staff member, in one of the rooms, and made away with a vehicle stolen at the same time.
According to information received, residents informed the Glencoe SAPS after they saw men loading off boxes out of the van and putting them in another similar van with a Gauteng registration plate. The van was later found abandoned on Dlangalala Street. Police urge anyone with information about the incident to report it on this number: 034 932 7700 (ask for Communications Officer Dlamini).
