Treverton Prep’s Grade six pupils went on their annual excursion to Zingela Safari and River Company Camp situated on the banks of the Tugela River.
This area is situated in the beautiful Tugela valley and forms part of the greater Tugela biosphere.
It is the perfect place for active Treverton children to indulge in an outdoor fun and develop their environmental understanding through their experiences.
Their introduction to the area started was on their arrival, when they walked from the bus drop-off point.
They could admire the spectacular views and the sheer beauty of the area from the cliffs that tower majestically around the valley.
Though there was an official lights out, it is rumoured that few observed the curfew.
Toothpaste was used as a weapon to smear on sleeping victims, there were also some camp raids on dorms.
These activities may have reduced the hours of sleep, as there were some bleary-eyed young people at early wake the next morning.
The activities they took part in included abseiling and river rafting.
The pupils were unanimous about enjoying their experiences when they were asked to comment on the trip.
