Hamilton pupils learn about history and famous leaders
This fun outing helped to consolidate their theme on South African history and famous leaders

Hamilton Preparatory School’s Grade 4 class recently spent a morning exploring historical sites and places of historical interest in Ladysmith.
They visited the Burgher Monument at Platrand, from where they had a wonderful bird’s eye view of the town.
From there, they moved to the cultural museum where they viewed artefacts from the Khoi-San and Zulu nation, as well as learning about some of our local heroes and the apartheid era. They ended their morning out with a stop at the Gandhi statue.
This fun outing helped to consolidate their theme on South African history and famous leaders.
