The Newcastle Wrestling Academy presented their second tournament this year at Drakensberg Primary School in Newcastle. The Northern Natal Renosters received the following medals:
Dawie Botha (U/9: 33-36kg) – gold; Dian Bierbaum (U/9: 36-39kg) – bronze; Jannie Woest (U/10: 27-30kg) – gold; Leonard Kruger (U/10: 30- 6 kg) – gold; Justin O’Conner (U/10: 30-36kg) – silver; Nollie Brown (U/11: 55kg) – gold; Zander Steyn (U/13: 36-39kg) – gold; Olwethu Zindela (U/13: 36-39kg) – silver; Willem Husselman (U/13: 42-46 kg) – gold; Kyle Senekal (U/13: 46-50 kg) – gold; Lusinda de Waal (U/13: 50-54kg) – gold; Edrich Nortjé (U/15: 46-50kg) – gold; and Wiehan Whelan (U/16: 69-76kg) – gold.
The long-term development programme (LTDP) is based on motivating young wrestlers to continue wrestling and promote wrestling. The following wrestlers received medals for participation: U/7- Dillian Guelpa, Liam Wentzel, JC Botha; U/8 – Theuns van der Merwe
