Ladies Lions Club Blanket Drive
We have donated blankets to an orphanage in Wakkerstroom. We have also donated blankets to underprivileged families in and around Newcastle.
In one of the coldest winters Newcastle has ever experienced, members of Newcastle Ladies Lions Club have taken it upon themselves to donate blankets to needy families in an attempt to keep the cold at bay.
“We have donated blankets to an orphanage in Wakkerstroom. We have also donated blankets to underprivileged families in and around Newcastle. They have absolutely nothing; it’s heartbreaking,” said one of the members.
The Lions Club appeals to the public to donate a blanket or cash to purchase a blanket for these families. “Even the smallest donation is greatly appreciated.”
