Social media has again become the platform residents can use to voice their outrage and frustration over sky-high utilities bills this month.
A post on Newcastle Classifieds by Debra Fenech read: Anyone else get a shock with their municipality bill? I don’t use heaters and mine has gone up by R956.73 this month.
How is one meant to survive. This is way beyond ridiculous. An uproar ensued, with more than 60 comments on the post already. Most of the comments lamented the sudden hike, which is sure to cripple many budgets.
