On Friday, August 8, five teams represented ML Sultan Estcourt Primary in various categories at the Science Expo held in Ladysmith.
For the first time this year, MLS was represented in the grade three category by Melissa Robi and Tashlyn Govender. The topic was very interesting as the learners conducted research on the “Impact of Colours”. Mrs Govender prepared her learners very well and their presentation was conducted with confidence.
Grade four learners, Aphiwe Masondo and Samkelo Mncube exploited the topic “Burn that Fat” when they conducted research on reasons why people are overweight and what steps can be undertaken to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Grade five learners, Senamile Mbona and Amina Dlamini, amazed the judges with their topic of “Fascinating Fossils”.
Grade sevens were represented by Lwazi Khumalo and Sulelia Mazibuko in their presentation of “Fuel for the Future”. There was much excitement when the judges announced that grade six learners, Ntombezine Majozi and Anelisa Zondi, will be proceeding to Nationals in Pretoria from September 8 – 10. These learners conducted intensive research on the “Impact of TV Addiction on Learner Performance at School”. The School Management Team congratulated Mrs Maniram and her team for their outstanding efforts and performance in the Science Expo.
