Learners explore: “Does classical music influence the growth of plants?”
On Friday, August 8, 13 Estcourt High School learners participated in the Eskom Science Expo, which was held at the Indoor Sport Centre in Ladysmith. The stadium was packed with learners eager to share their innovative ideas with the judges. Some of the ideas that Estcourt High School presented were: “Can a human voice break a glass?” and “Are human emotions influenced by the moon phases?”
Each learner had to prepare a report file, project file, a diary and a display board.
The panel of three judges asked each participant various questions based on their project.
Once again, the learners were able to impress the judges.
Highly commended awards: Nokwanda Khumalo and Nombuso Nyathi. Bronze Awards: Sphelele Mabaso, Sizwe Mngadi and Londeka Mbatha. Silver Award: Londile Nxumalo. Special Awards: Category – Earth Science Sizwe Mngadi. Miss DC Venter would like to congratulate all these learners for their dedication and hard work. Well done! You have made Estcourt High School extremely proud!
