Quiz to improve literacy

Thabo was placed first and will represent the school at the Mega Quiz Challenge finals which will be held at the Utility Hall on September 11

Ladysmith Library Services, under the auspices of Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality, are currently celebrating Literacy Month.

With this library initiative being aimed at promoting the importance of being able to read and write, an inter-school quiz competition was held at the Ladysmith municipal library on Friday. The target groups for this competition were Grade 8 and 9 pupils.

The theme of the competition was ‘Democracy’ and the organisers of the event took the opportunity to improve the children’s understanding of this term and also enhance their general knowledge.

Windsor Secondary School was represented by Thabo Mathebula and Mpath Mazibuko, who are currently in Grade 9. Thabo was placed first and will represent the school at the Mega Quiz Challenge finals which will be held at the Utility Hall on September 11.

The Windsor principal, staff and pupils are very proud of Thabo and hope he excels at the next level of the competition.
