Spring Day with flowers at Edukidz

The smell of flowers permeated the school as the new season announced its arrival

Edukidz pupils arrived at school on ‘Spring Day’ with flowers in their hair and flowers pinned to their shirts.

The smell of flowers permeated the school as the new season announced its arrival.

Excited learners compared flowers and soon an interesting discussion of differences and similarities evolved. The little ones got to learn the different parts of the flower – from root to stem to leaves, and of course the flower itself.

The discussion in the classroom flowed through to the outdoors and the gardens in the area as they walked around the neighbourhood.

The learners smelled a variety of flowers and soon discovered that they all smelled different, with some being surprisingly unpleasant.

Creative artwork followed and soon every child proudly held a basket of flowers in their hand to take home and show the family.
