DHS hosts stunner of a farewell

The school wishes the Grade 12s all of the best during their upcoming trial examinations.

Matric Farewell
After many, many hours of preparation, the DHS Grade 12s elegantly paraded down the street and entered the gates of DHS to find themselves travelling back in time to the luxurious age of the 1920’s.
The hall was exquisitely transformed with incredible attention to detail, and the luxury of pearls, champagne (non-alcoholic of course) and silk could be enjoyed. The 1920’s Chicago girls put on delightfully springy and quirky performance to keep the audience entertained. Hopefully the evening enabled the Grade 12s to make many lasting memories they can carry with them through life. DHS would like to thank the many people from outside the school that helped to make the evening a success, and especially the Grade 11 learners who worked so hard along with their register teachers to pull off this amazing event. The school wishes the Grade 12s all of the best during their upcoming trial examinations. Now is the final stretch before finals and the end of your high school career – make it count.
Mpati Mountain Race
Many of our DHS learners took part in the Mpati Challenge mountain race held this past weekend. Congratulations to all the learners who completed their individual events!
Salga Games
Several of our DHS learners represented the school at the Endumeni Salga Games, held on September 13. Sanele Radebe and Mzilikazi Khumalo represented DHS in the rugby event. Sifundo Sibiya pariticpated in the Ingqathu event. Kuhle Zulu participated in the tennis round, and Lusiwe Phungula in the ladies’ soccer. Chanté Groenewald participated in the long jump, the 100m and the shotput and Nomhle Sibiya in the netball and high jump events. Nomhle made it to the netball squad and she also attained first position in the high jump. Well done to all the learners who attended and participated!
