Dundee ATM bombed

The thieves apparently left empty handed

The series of ATM bombings in the area continued with the destruction of the ABSA ATM at the Dundee Boulevard Centre at around 4am this morning.

The bombers are believed to have got away empty handed.  Police cordoned off the area this morning.  Damages was limited to the ATM with the adjacent Standard Bank ATM seemingly unharmed.

Security guards were said to have been threatened by the bombers.  This bombing is one of many in the area over the past year: ATMS in Nquthu, Dannhauser and Glencoe have all been bombed.  This is the first time that the bombers have been active in Dundee town.
