WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT – Decomposing baby’s corpse shocks residents

A small hand grasped at the newspaper it was wrapped in, frozen in that position even in death.

A discovery of yet another baby at the Newcastle Landfill has left many in utter shock.

Yesterday, a vagrant searching for food at the site came across the unopened packet.

The sight inside will stay with most people forever.

A newborn baby, barely out of the womb, lay wrapped in newspaper; the dried blood and placenta and vague signs of decomposing signal the baby had been discarded immediately after working hours, which was estimated to have occurred during the past week.

Members of emergency services and police stood flabbergasted and distraught as they were tasked with opening and removing the  lifeless ‘shoe-box’ sized body for investigative purposes.

“We have to take the body and will conduct an inquest with the Department of Health, but it might not give us any results, because this person probably did not enter any hospital for treatment, and there is possibly no witnesses,” said an on-scene police officer.

All on scene were shaken to the core at the senseless tragedy.

However, as the next rubbish truck rolls in, the homeless who had moments earlier been searching through the vary same bags which contained the body, were already climbing on the back of the truck, hoping to be the first to find their next meal…
