Local Show and Shine competitor, Avinash Jagannath, has been part of the Northern Natal Motorsport (NNMS) family for almost four years.
Now aged 24, Avinash developed his love for music at a young age and started experimenting with sound from the age of 10. Apart from imitating his peers, he found his inspiration from an entirely unusual source.
“I developed my love for music from attending previous Newcastle Winter Festivals,” he said.
Besides travelling with NNMS and participating in Show and Shine competitions, Avinash doubles as a DJ and was recently DJ and MC at the CANSA Relay For life Motorshow on Saturday, October 11. Preferring well-tuned bass over a sizzling turbocharger, sound is Avinash’s main passion.
“Racing isn’t really my thing,” he admitted.
His pride and joy is a 1995 1.6 Toyota Conquest Sport rigged with a Targa Audio pre-amp, a Targa Audio 1-Channel 5200 watt competition series MonoBlock amplifier and a StarSound 1-Channel 6000 watt D- class competition series amplifier.
A 4-guage welding cable powers the amplifiers. Completing the setup are two 6×9 speakers fitted on a custom made back board powered by an XTC Audio 2-Channel 1500 watt amplifier and two 12-inch Targa Audio 5000 watt DVC Street Subwoofers fitted into a spec dual port box.
