DHS enjoyed a very formal and elegant prize-giving on Thursday evening. The audience enjoyed a very inspiring speech by Dr Nické Theron, the guest speaker.
DHS is incredibly proud of all the prize winners, but special mention must be made of Raessah Sader, who was the Mathematical Literacy Dux winner, and Anele Buthelezi, who was the overall Dux winner.
A special thank you to the parents and supporters who attended the evening, to the choir for their beautiful performance, and to Mr Devereux for all his hard work in putting the evening together.
DHS is happy to announce the new prefects for 2015.
In charge of the hostel this year will be Bongiwe Ntshangase as Headgirl and Zithobe Gumede as Headboy.
Their team of hostel prefects is made up of Amanda Lamula, Sabelesihle Luthuli, Thembeka Masuku, Amanda Mthethwa, Siyabonga Ndlovu and Zanele Ndlovu.
The DHS prefect body will be led by Colin Scott (Headboy) and Surina Gregory (Headgirl), and their deputies, Jehan Ebrahim and Wandile Khumalo. The prefects for 2015 are Atiyyah Ameen, Zama Bhengu, Sarah-Jane Cherry, Nabeela Khan, Soené Kolesky, Sadiyah Malek, Amanda Malinga, Shanté Marais, Simone Millar, Karla Müller, Zanele Ndlovu, Anja Thom, Melissa van Aswegen, Heidi Wichmann, Gert Cronjé, Duncan Goertz, Zithobe Gumede, Brandon Halforty, David Jacobs, Nthando Kuzwayo, Sikhona Mbatha, Thando Sikhosana, Shane van Wyk and Wanele Zulu.
DHS is confident that these learners will perform their duty to the school excellently and uphold the school’s high standard of leadership.

St Dominic’s Bundu Bash
DHS had around 36 representatives participating in the Bundu Bash at Utrecht this weekend.
The DHS learners showed great spirit, despite not winning the prize for the school with the most entries, but they truly made their school proud.
Congratulations to all the learners who completed their respective events. Special congratulations to Dylan Maré for coming second in his age category, David Jacobs for coming third in his age category, Brandon Grondein for coming third in his age category and Kevin Johnston for coming second in his age category.
