A truck driver lost his life in an accident on the N3 close to Bergville Plaza during the early hours of this morning (Thursday, November 13). 2 trucks were involved.

It is alleged that one of the trucks rear-ended the other. The truck in front was carrying a load of metal, which fell off due to the collision and smashed into the truck at the rear. It is thought that one of the pieces of metal killed the driver.

It took paramedics about two hours to lift the metal to free the trapped body. The jaws of life had to be used by Sharaj and EMRS.
