President Zuma to unveil reconciliation Bridge today

The Bridge will symbolise reconcilation between the 'Boer and the Zulu' sides.

President Jacob Zuma will today unveil the new bridge connecting Ncome Museum and Blood River Monument at the 2014 Day of Reconciliation commemoration event. The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Social Cohesion, Reconciliation and National Unity in the 20 years of Democracy”.

The unveiling of the bridge symbolises the removal of racial and social barriers between the different population groups who were involved in the Battle of Blood River/Impi yase Ncome conflict.

The Bridge connects the two institutions and serves as a positive gesture of reconciliation, peace and unity. The host of the event is the Minister of Arts and Culture Minister, Mr. Nathi Mthethwa, who will preside over the proceedings of the day
