N11 motorists warned of Klipriver Bridge closure and diversions
Drivers heading north must use alternative routes during construction.
Motorists travelling north on the N11 are being urged to plan their journeys carefully, as a section of the road at the Klipriver Bridge will be closed for nearly two weeks.
The northbound section of the N11 between KM 1+900 and KM 2+500 will be closed from today (October 5) until October 16 to allow construction teams to carry out work on the bridge joints.
Southbound traffic unaffected
The closure will affect northbound traffic only, while motorists travelling south will be able to use the N11 as normal.
Alternative route for northbound motorists
Drivers heading north will be diverted onto the R103 and Harrismith Road before rejoining the N11 via King Street.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time for their journeys and to follow all temporary traffic signs and directions from traffic officials while the work is underway.
Plan ahead
The road closure is expected to remain in place until Friday, October 16, when the affected section is scheduled to reopen.
Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution around the construction area and plan their routes in advance to avoid unnecessary delays.
