The Rotary Club back in action
The Rotarians have grand plans for the upcoming year and believe it is in a prime position to make a difference in 2015.
Newcastle Rotary Club was pleased to host their final fundraiser of the year on December 12.
The event took place at John Dory’s that agreed to donate 10 per cent of the night’s earnings towards a charity of the Rotary Club’s choice.
It was a night of cheer and was graced by the presence of the South African High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and former Durban Mayor, Obed Mlaba, who came to Newcastle specifically for the event.
“I have to thank John Dory’s for their support and for having us tonight; we’ve had a great turnout and even ex-Rotary members have joined us here. We are honoured to have Mr Mlaba here with us,” said Rotary president, Johann Wagner.
The Rotarians have grand plans for the upcoming year and believe it is in a prime position to make a difference in 2015.
“We now have the funds and are looking for worthy causes to take under our wing. I think 2015 is going to be an exciting year. The Rotary Club is alive and well again,” concluded Mr Wagner.
