New ‘uniform’ for schools news

The following guidelines apply to any and all school news for future publication:

As teachers, parents and pupils prepare to tackle 2015, the Newcastle Advertiser team compiled a list of dos and don’ts with regards to the often ‘touchy’ subject of schools news.

The following guidelines apply to any and all school news for future publication:

General: We do not accept school news from parents or family members. No exceptions will be made.

Submission Times: All school news must be submitted no later than 1pm on a Monday. News submitted after 1pm will be published the following week.

Information: The information within the article itself must be a true, accurate representation of the event(s) that have taken place. We will not be held responsible for incorrect information submitted for publication.

Photos: Please ensure the quality of photos provided is of reasonable quality. Blurry photos take away from the overall appeal of the article and are often hard to edit. Do not insert photos into the email or Word document itself. Please attach the photo separately.

Photo Captions: Please ensure the correct captions are provided with every photo. The list of the names of the pupils in the photo are to be submitted from left to right as per our publication policy. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect captions and encourage schools to be cautious where captions are concerned.

The Newcastle Advertiser does not receive payment for news published in the schools section.

We look forward to another successful year of news and trust the above mentioned guidelines will be adhered to.

May 2015 be a blessed and wonderful for year for all.

At Caxton, every story is written by humans. We use AI only to perform quality checks - never to generate the news. Happy reading!
