Today (Wednesday) was back to school for the children of Ladysmith.
Many were returning to school, while for others it was their first time. Some of the little ones were in tears and clinging onto their mums and dads, while others seemed excited in their new environment and were eager to make new friends.
Some parents even let a few tears roll down their cheeks as they left their little ones in the capable hands of a teacher.
The educators played their part in the process by soothing those who were crying and making sure everyone was comfortable in the classroom.
Activities to help the children ‘acclimatise’ included playing with blocks and colouring-in, as well as mingling with one another.
The kiddies soon forgot about their parents and got down to the business of seeing what school life is all about.
