Egerton head boy Heinrich Slabbert had this to say about his role as student leader at the school:
“Since my first day at Egerton Primary School, I dreamt of being head boy of the school. When my name was announced as head boy for 2015, I was extremely proud and honoured. Finally my dream has become a reality. As head boy of 2015, my vision for this year is to carry out my duties to the best of my ability and to lead my fellow students in an exemplary way.
“I would like to motivate all learners in the school to be compassionate, to tolerate one another, to always be honest, and to respect each other. I would like to encourage all learners of Egerton to never give up, to follow their dreams, and prosper. To all Grade 7 learners of 2015 – may you all have a successful and fulfilling year, as this is your final year at Egerton Primary School.
“As head boy for 2015, I shall strive to the utmost, as our school motto states.”
