It was with pride that the school presented the school’s prefects with their caps and blazers for 2015.
Glencoe Primary would like to say a special thank you to T-Shirts for Africa for sponsoring their caps.
The prefects are: Maryke Coetzee, Bonga Gumede, Nokukhanya Hleleni, Celestine Jackson, Sithandiwe Khanyile, Fezeka Khuzwayo, Warren Kitching, Miriam Khan, Sindiswa Makhaye, Yolisa Mathe, Thandiwe Mchunu, Nompumelelo Mgwabi, Faith Mlambo, Bandile Mngadi, Andiswa Mthethwa, Sacha Naidoo, Njabulo Ngubane and Ayanda Qwabe.
The prefects, during assembly, had to pledge in front of the whole school to uphold the school code of conduct and to be examples for everyone. Mr van Rooyen read their pledges and they repeated loudly after him.
Mr Lloyd and Mrs Ackerman then handed over their caps and blazers. They are the teenagers who will be giving the pace to the rest of the school. These prefects have now received a door and their future beckons.
New Staff
It is another great privilege to welcome Mr Pieter Pretorius to our school family. Mr Pretoruis made waves in Utrecht as Deputy Headboy and has decided to travel the road as a teacher.
The school wish him all the best for a bright future.
