Weenen Primêr took a stand against bullying at the start of the school year.  One Friday a month, they have an anti-bullying day to remind the children that there is zero tolerance of bullying at the school. On this Friday, the children wear their rhino T-shirts that also indicate that animals should not be bullied either.
A special ‘anti-bully’ assembly is also held on this day. The first assembly was taken by Frik Lemmer, the Game Ranger at our local nature reserve.  He spoke to the children about the plight of the rhino and linked this to bullying in general. This was followed up by discussions and activities by individual teachers in their classrooms.  Weenen Primêr has linked to a world-wide website that stands against bullying and it is encouraging to know that on the last Friday of the month, many schools all over the world are doing the same.
