A sad week for Landbou

VRYHEID LANDBOU High School was shocked and saddened this week by the news of the passing of Mr Patrick Ngwenya who had worked on the farm at Landbou High for 27 years.

On Thursday a memorial service was held to honour his memory. Mr Ngwenya was a loyal, hard working man whose love for his children knew no bounds. He was admired and respected by his colleagues, many of whom paid tribute to him at the service, and by all of the Landbou family. Our deepest sympathies to his children and his family. He will always live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Last week Mrs Valentine and Mr Kirchner, as well as two learners, Diana Mngomezulu and Sibonelo Mbatha, attended an Edu Plant Workshop at Louwsburg. Diana and Sibonelo spoke very knowledgeably about organic farming and compost making, and they really impressed the audience. Congratulations to you two. You made us proud.

Five Grade 11 learners have been recruited to assist at the Blood Bank clinic sessions at the school. They attended a training workshop in Newcastle on Friday. By all accounts it was a very successful and well spent day.
