Vryheid Landbou High School – Even the shortest trees can reach great heights
Heartiest congratulations to Carina van Aswegen who has been teaching Business subjects at Landbou since the beginning of the year. She passed her BEd Senior and FET phase degree Cum Laude and was conferred on her last week. She was also recognized as the best student in this phase since her first year in 2011, until her last year in 2014. Well done. We are all so proud of you!

Choir weekend: The hills were alive last weekend as our choir enjoyed a weekend of song. The school enjoyed hearing the choir on Monday. The future looks bright for our songsters. Thank you so much to the educators who gave up a weekend to work with the learners – Mrs van Niekerk, Ms Jonel Stuart and Mr Nhlakanipho Ncgobo and Mr Lungelo Mathenjwa. The choir also gave a magnificent performance in the Klip Church on Sunday morning. Our choir really make us proud.
English Olympiad: Ten learners took part in the English Olympiad on Tuesday. They all wrote for a full three hours answering what was a very challenging paper.
“I am very proud of all of you.” says Ms Tasseron. “Thank you for months of hard work. We are holding thumbs for good results in June!”
Sport: Some of our teams played against Utrecht High on Wednesday. All games took place in a good spirit. Thank you to all our coaches and learners.
Rugby: u/15 56 -0 Landbou Won. Second team 26 -12 Landbou Won. Hockey: Juniors 0 – 0 and Seniors 1 – 1. Netball: Juniors 6-6 and Seniors 12 – 7 Landbou Won. Well done to everyone.
