Michaelis Schule – Tennis Tournament a beneficial experience
The tournament was delayed due to rain on Friday morning. They played against the different regions of KZN but because of the rain delay they could only play singles and doubles. Much experience was gained and they benefited from participating in this tournament. Well done, Leah and Awande, we are proud of you!

Mini Olympiad: Our annual Mini Olympiad was held in the picturesque setting of Hermannsburg School. Deutsche Schule Durban, Michaelis and Hermannsburg were competing against each other. After arriving on Friday, March 6, the day set off with the gala. The competition was fierce and our swimmers gave of their best.
After lunch it was down to the soccer fields where four teams were ready to play: junior and senior boys as well as the junior and senior girls. The soccer was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The junior boys did exceptionally well.
After supper all the learners walked up to the hall to enjoy an evening of games, presented by the Grade 11 learners from Hermannsburg. The following morning was spent playing rounders by all four teams. An enjoyable time was had by all.
The day was concluded with prize giving on the lawn. Deutsch Schule Durban received the trophy for the winning team at the gala. Ivan Tschirpig received a medal for being Senior Victor Ludorum. The girls’ u/10 freestyle relay team received recognition for coming first in their race and for breaking the record. The u/12 girls’ freestyle relay team came second and also broke a record on the day! Congratulations to all of our learners for participating in this event. We would like to thank the Hermannsburg teachers and pupils for organising this event and for being such excellent hosts. We look forward to attending again next year!
