ON FRIDAY, March 6, the grade ones joined the party that Kipper, a character in their reading book, organised.
Kipper wanted a party, but nobody wanted to come. So he asked all the grade ones of NRS to come to his party. They wanted a cake. So they mixed the following ingredients: cornflakes, tomato sauce, milk, jam, sugar and baked beans. All the grade ones tasted this cake. Not everyone liked it. The mothers sent real cakes to school, which were enjoyed by all. Kipper was happy.
Wintersport: Verlede Dinsdag het NRS vir Laerskool Pionier van Volksrust op ons tuisvelde ontvang. Hulle het vyf rugbyspanne en vyf netbalspanne gebring. NRS het koning gekraai wat die rugby betref, met die volgende tellings (NRS se telling eerste): o/9 35-5, o/10 34-0, o/11 21-10, tweede span 10-10 en die eerste span 31-12. Pionier het weer die netbal oorheers. NRS verloor die meeste wedstryde (o/10 4-7, o/11 1-9, o/12 1-2), terwyl die eerste span 10-10 gelykop gespeel het. Baie dankie aan al die afrigters en skeidsregters vir ‘n aangename sportmiddag.
Rugbyproewe: Tydens die rugbyproewe wat verlede week in Pongola gehou is, is Alethwa Buthelezi vir die o/12 Vryheid Streekspan gekies. Baie geluk!
Swimming gala: On Friday, March 13, NRS held its annual gala at the NRS swimming pool, where the learners were able to participate in either formal or fun events. It was a successful, happy day, and we thank Miss van Zyl and Mr Potgieter for their organisation. The results will be published after the internal prizegiving on March 31.
