DHS hockey girls show their mettle

Many of the DHS hockey girls attended the trials on Friday, March 20.
Soenè Kolesky, Zanele Ndlovu, Surina Gregory, Simone Millar, Karla Müller and Zama Bhengu all came in the top sixteen and made the under 19 team. Kelly Ngobese and Melissa van Aswegen are the non-travelling reserves. Chantè Groenewald, Jongisa Lembethe and Nomcebo Ndlovu made the under 16 side. The u/14 girls showed tremendous talent. DHS congratulates Tamarah Grieson, Nongcebo Mbatha, Abigail Box, Gabby Carter, Nosipho Hlope, Christien Muller and Cheryl Ngobese for being selected to represent the u/14 Umzinyathi team. Their first tournament will be held on May 1 in Pietermaritzburg.
DHS Fishing
The learners from Dundee High went fishing at Mahawane Dam during the past weekend. Everyone caught fish and had a great weekend. Reuben Kenchenten caught the most fish ending up with a total of 61 fish. Mikaile Nanan caught the biggest barbel and Steven Layton caught the biggest carp. Thanks to Mr Kenchenten for getting them to their destination safely. A total of 157 fish were caught and were released back into the dam.
Louisa Kock, DHS’s exchange student, also decided that she wanted to take part in this novel experience and caught three lovely carp on her first camping trip ever. Well done.
Endumeni Netball Trials
At the netball trials held on Friday, March 20, the following girls from Dundee High were chosen to represent Endumeni: U/14: S Zwane; S Thango; L Xaba; M Makhoba; S Mamela. U/16: M Ndlovu; S Nkwanyana; Z Ngwane; N Masimula; L Ntshele. U/17: S Khumalo; Z Zindela; M Ndlovu; S Mthombeni; L Nyathi; Z Gombela; S Mtshali. U/18: L Nxumalo; B Ntshangase. The under 15 results are not available yet. The school wishes them all the best for the next round.
Dundee High Fun Day
Op 21 Maart het Hoërskool Dundee hul eerste pret sportdag gehou! Die leerders het hulself gate uit geniet in die swembad en boeresport gespeel tot laatmiddag. DHS hopes to have many fun days like this where learners can simply enjoy themselves. Dit was ‘n wonderlike manier om van oortollige stres ontslae te raak en leerders het tydens die boeresport hul wortels in die Afrikaanse kultuur gaan vind.
