Sarel Cilliers girls’ do well at trials

Hockey trials were held last week and Sarel Cilliers High School is extremely proud to have such a large number of players chosen. The following learners will represent Umzinyathi hockey at the tournament in Pietermaritzburg at the end of April: Vanessa Gomell, Fikile Sibisi, Chanté Oelofsen, Bongeka Lushaba, Georgia Viljoen, Aphiwe Buthelezi, Nikita Ramdayal, Lucinda de Bruin, Liezel Viljoen and Ayanda Mhlongo. On Saturday, March 21, Sarel Cilliers High School played a tournament in Frankfort. The learners did extremely well with the second team playing two matches. The first match was against Wilgerivier and Sarel won 4-0. The second match was against Balfour and Sarel won 2-0. Congratulations to Nompilo Mkhwanazi and Naledi Ndala for playing such excellent hockey.
Endumeni Netball Trials
The Endumeni Netball Trials took place on Friday, March 20. Congratulations to the following players who are going to the next round:

U/15 – A Mntumgwa, N Dlamo, Z Kunene, P Zungu, S Smith, W Bessah, G Sokhela, N Sibisi, L Mathunsi, S Mngadi.
U/14 – M Makhoba, S Memela, S Thango, S Otou-Acheampong, S Zwane, L Xaba, A Ntuli, A Kwela, N Ngobese and T Maritz.
Umzinyathi Trials: 16/4/2015: Greytown High School – U/12, U/13, U/14, U/15; 17/04/2015: Dundee High School – U/15, U/19; Sarel Cilliers – U/16, U/17.
On Saturday, March 21, the teams travelled to Frankfort to participate in the tournament. All the teams played very well and the u14’s won all their matches. The first team won one match and lost two while the second team won one and lost one match. Well done to all the players.
