Five men accused of the brutally hijacking and murder of Pastor Hamilton Zulu on March 24 have appeared in the Glencoe Magistrate’s Court for a bail application.
The hearing was postponed to next week. Two of the five are under age. A 17-year-old from Durban was previously sentenced for a robbery and would have served his sentence at a reform prison for juveniles near Newcastle.
However, he broke out of the centre and has been on the run since. The other four are all from Glencoe. Pastor Zulu had earlier given the five a lift in Dundee. He had also stopped to give another a man lift. However, the five attacked the hitch-hiker and threw him out of the car.
Pastor Zulu was forced to draw money from an ATM and left for dead on the road to Uelzen School. The men were later arrested following a tip off.
