Vryheid Mountainbiking Club – Local cyclists excel countrywide
They cycled 66km on the first day, 60km on the second day and then 54km on the third day. They had an excellent event in which they came first of the mixed couples and eighth overall. Congratulations, you two. We are so proud of you!
EVERETTE and Sandra Haywood took part in the Liberty Cape Winelands three day stage race over the past weekend.

Two other couples, Riaan and Lize Swanepoel and Marius and Elize van Eden also took part in the Royal Drakensberg Mountain bike challenge in Clarens over the weekend. Riaan (3:59), Lize (3:30) and Marius (3:35) took part in the 72km on the Saturday. Lize was the third ladies veteran. On Sunday, Marius and Elize completed the 45km. Well done to them all.
Two other riders, Zauco van den Berg and Ronell Keeve took part in the Mountain bike event at Lüneburg on Saturday cycling the 40km event over very difficult terrain. They both came back with first prize. Congratulations.
Lüneburg also hosted a 20km and 10km MTB event and 15km, 10km and 5km trail run/walk. We would like to encourage Vryheid athletes to participate in events in and around Vryheid. Lüneburg was such a beautiful event.
