Now 20 years old, he started learning to play the drums and guitar when he was only five
Local man Aaron Pillay is a multi-instrumentalist who has an eye on the ‘big time’ when it comes to playing music.
Now 20 years old, Aaron started learning to play the drums and guitar when he was a tiny tot of five. Two years later, at the age of seven, his fingers were learning the ‘keys’ on a keyboard.
Young boys in the area where he lives look up to him and often ask him to perform for them. Such is Aaron’s passion for music that in his spare time, he sometimes even gives lessons to the youngsters.
Aaron is formerly from Estcourt, but now lives in the Aloe Park area of Ladysmith.
After working hours, nothing gives this music maestro greater pleasure than taking out his guitar and keyboard and seeing what he can come up with.
His favourite kind of music is gospel, so it’s no wonder that he regularly plays in church.
“My favourite instrument is my guitar, which I have had for years now,” smiles Aaron.
