Kwarie Camp owner, Leon du Plooy, only has one blesbuck left at his resort on Tandy Street. Two of the buck fell victim again to a poacher who left one animal to rot in the veld and made off with the other carcass. It is thought that the blesbuck were shot in the early hours of the morning, last month. A criminal case was registered, and the Courier was told that “investigations are continuing.” The suspect is known to Leon. He told the Courier that the damage this time was about R8 000. Some years previously the caravan camp was also in the news when locals poached the first of the blesbuck they kept there.
