When winter creeps in, we stock up on groceries, fill the gas for our heaters and ensure that our beds are covered with the warmest of blankets but let us not forget that not too far away there are those who are not able to enjoy the same comforts.

The Winter Warmth campaign has taken on the mighty task of catering for those who will find the winter too much to bear. An initiative to gather non-perishable food, blankets, warm woollies or other essential items, Winter Warmth will ensure that many needy people are protected from the bitter cold this winter.

Community members are encouraged to generously contribute towards the Winter Warmth Project and allow it to be your extended hand of warmth this winter. Anyone can contribute by donating what they can, whether it’s those spare blankets, that extra box of instant soup you purchased, or knitted socks. In a drive to achieve as much as possible, two drop off points has been set up.

The drop off points are at the Estcourt News office as well as Hyper Zone. Winter Warmth appeals to you to assist with this campaign. Consider the underprivileged and homeless people with no winter clothing and warm blankets to cover up with at night or a meal to eat before going to sleep.

Therefore the Winter Warmth campaign aims at uniting communities through the giving and receiving of blankets, clothing and hot meals that warm not only bodies, but the hearts of all involved.
