Mentoring for Madiba

Last Friday, Blackrock Casino did its part for Mandela Day by working with Khulisa.

Khulisa is running a project, Global Give Back Circle, focusing on Grade 12 girls from rural areas.

As the teenagers prepare to leave school, Khulisa supplies mentors and empowerment training and prepares them for the world after school, while ensuring participants have an equal chance to success as those who are more fortunate.

Blackrock Casino, as part of Tsogo Sun, hosted a workshop for the group of girls to expose them to job opportunities within the casino world.

“This is us giving back to the community. We had mentors from the different departments giving the girls a talk on the opportunities available to them in Tsogo Sun. We also gave the girls a lunch in Mid City Grill and for many of them, it was the first time they had ever eaten in a restaurant establishment,” said Melody Ngcamu from Blackrock Casino.
