SPCA: Give a loving dog a second chance at life

My name is Spike. A resident called the SPCA on July 15, to say that my family have moved homes and I was left behind at the abandoned house in View Street for 2 weeks. The SPCA came out and found me hiding in the back yard, cold, hungry and alone.

I am an adult male German Shepherd, Rottweiler cross and I am very friendly and good with children. Please help me find a forever home. I will make a really great family dog.

The Newcastle SPCA request urgent help in finding this beautiful Harlequin Great Dane, Apollo, a loving home.

Apollo is a young male Great Dane who was brought to the SPCA as a stray and no one has claimed him or reported him as missing yet.

Great Danes may look terribly imposing, but are in reality one of the best-natured dogs around. For all his size, this Great Dane is a sweet, affectionate family pet and he loves to play.

Unfortunately Apollo needs a loving home urgently. Although he is eating well, he is losing a lot of weight through stress, as Great Danes don’t do well in captivity. Apollo urgently needs a loving family to give him a home.
