GALLERY: Miss Commonwealth SA finalist Silindile was in town
Described by friends and family as soft-spoken and good-hearted, this young woman is headed for greatness.
VRYHEID born Miss Commonwealth finalist Silindile Zulu patnered up with the local Wimpy this past weekend to raise funds for Pink Drive, a breast cancer awareness and education charity.
This bold beauty had a meet and greet session from 12h00 until 20h00 on Saturday, July 25, and despite the gloomy weather, she managed to let her good heart shine through and greeted everyone with a dazzling smile.
Growing up a very shy person, Silindile’s friends and family say that they never expected her to one day be in the spotlight although she has always been a peoples person.
“I remember her receiving the ‘Fellowship’ Award in Primary school and I still recall how we found it funny as this had nothing to do with her academics,” said her best friend Lungie Buthelezi.
The main goal of the Miss Commonwealth pageant is to bring sustainable change through projects that focus primarily on social upliftment, food relief and orphaned children. They aim to assist their title holders to attend and compete on an International stage at Miss Commonwealth International – Triple Crown in London annually.
Many keen locals went out to Vryheid Wimpy on Saturday to meet Silindile, have a chat and take photos.
