Centenary Road closed by protesters

Centenary Road is now closed. Protesters have sealed the road with huge rocks and burning tyres.

Police, RTI, the Dog Unit (K9) and Public Safety are on scene.

Acaciavale Primary School (APS) had to release the children early due to the road closure.

Pieters, Helpmekaar, Steadville, Driefontein and other areas  are still a problem at this stage, with rocks, tyres and tree branches making them impassable for motorists.

Drivers are warned to stay clear.
