A community in mourning, a fellowship diminished, following news of the passing of motorcycling couple, Kobus and Amelia Coetzer.
A community in mourning, a fellowship diminished.
Social media has been abuzz with messages of sorrow and upset, following news of the passing of motorcycling couple, Kobus and Amelia Coetzer.
The couple were killed in a collision on Saturday morning.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene on Allen Street, before the N11 bridge, after the motorcycle the Coetzers were on and an SUV collided. The first responders sadly declared the Coetzers dead.
“They were found to have sustained multiple injuries. Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for them,”
ER24 spokespeople said. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
It was said the driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries, while the passengers in the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The Newcastle Advertiser sends its condolences to family and friends of the deceased.
