Breaking News: Missing body found

Police find missing dentist's body in lake

The body of Ladysmith dentist Dr MQ Khan has just been recovered by SAPS divers. It took police divers, led by Captain Jack Haskins, all day to find the body in a lake at the Drakensberg Sun Hotel.

Police divers resumed the search this morning after aborting the search last night due to darkness and the cold.

Dr Khan drowned in a boating accident yesterday afternoon.

It is believed that a teenager was also in the canoe at the time of the accident. The canoe capsized, throwing both occupants into the water. The teenager was wearing a life-jacket and attempted to raise the alarm. At this stage, it is unclear why the doctor was not wearing a life-jacket. The teenager was rescued from the bitterly-cold water.
