Bridging the gap at last?
Last Monday, August 3, construction workers were present at the site, not doing very much, however, and with no sign of machines, construction vehicles, supervision or general activity, according to a previous report by the Vryheid Herald.
IT APPEARS that, after several months of delay tactics and stalling, work at the site of the High Street bridge has finally commenced, albeit somewhat slowly.
Last Monday, August 3, construction workers were present at the site, not doing very much, however, and with no sign of machines, construction vehicles, supervision or general activity, according to a previous report by the Vryheid Herald.
When we visited the site again, later in the week, construction staff were seen filling gabions in the area, but still no sign of machinery or vehicles. It is believed that the provincial project will be completed within the next two months.
