“Are you smarter than a 6th grader?” is an annual event, which was recently held at St. Dominic’s Academy.
Six intelligent pupils from Drakensberg Primary School attended the event, and were challenged with a variety of activities and had to answer several questions posed to them.
The most exciting challenge was to make a craft using nothing but two balloons, three straws and a cupcake holder. An egg was placed inside this “craft”, which had to land on the ground after being sent down a distance of about seven metres.
The goal was to salvage the egg without it breaking, and the Drakie team were successful.
Drakensberg Primary School thanked the organisers of the event for allowing their pupils to enter.
