Progress at High Street bridge

While there have been several setbacks since the initial commencement of the much awaited High Street bridge, which will link the top end of High Street with the upper section of High Street between Hird and North streets, construction of the bridge finally appears to be well underway.

Since the Vryheid Herald’s last visit to the site, it seems that several loads of building sand have been introduced, as well as a TLB. The manhole covers near the site of the bridge have also been raised to accommodate for the section of road which will eventually rise up to meet the bridge itself, providing motorists with a shorter route between the two sections of High Street.
