Breaking News: Foreign national arrested for drug possession

The officers were handed a packet containing 51 pieces of 'rock' cocaine

An intelligence-driven police operation resulted in the arrest of a woman (foreign national) for possession of ‘rock’ cocaine this afternoon (Thursday).

Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit (CIG) officers pounced on the woman’s residence in Forbes Street and found over 50 pieces of ‘rock’ cocaine. The officers took over an hour to search the entire business premises after the woman initially gave them misleading information as to where the drugs were being kept.

Eventually, the woman confessed that the drugs were in her possession. The officers were handed a packet containing 51 pieces of ‘rock’ cocaine. She was then arrested and detained at Ladysmith police station.
