Michaelis ‘Littlies’ visit Grade 1

EXCITEMENT bubbled over as the Michaelis Kinder and Babykiste classes visited the “Big School” on Thursday morning.

Greeted by an equally excited Grade 1 class and their teacher Mrs Lilje, each “littlie” was given a buddy to sit with. Here they experienced a story of Freddy Frog and his quest for friendship.

This story was really brought to life with the aid of the interactive whiteboard. Freddy Frog entertained them and it wasn’t long before our “babies” felt right at home. Each child then received a big Freddy the Frog picture to colour in with the help of their buddy.

It was wonderful to see the Grade 1’s, who are each allocated their own Grade 7 buddy at the beginning of the year, take the role themselves encouraging and supporting their juniors. Proving that you are never too small to be needed!

After lots of marshmallows and chips and a lot of fun we returned to the Kindergarten, richer in memories and new friends in our hearts.
