Two armed robbery suspects who fled the Eastern Cape to seek refuge in KwaZulu-Natal were arrested by Mooi River and Nottingham Road police on Friday.

The suspects aged 19 and 22 had been evading police from Ntabakulu in the Eastern Cape after they allegedly committed an armed robbery in March this year.

After receiving information that the suspects were living and working in Nottingham Road, Ntabakulu police teamed up with their colleagues in Mooi River and Nottingham Road and a search for the suspects began.

Armed with warrants of arrest, police tracked the suspects down and they were arrested. The two suspects will now be transported to Ntabakulu where they face charges of armed robbery with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Police have been commended by KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni who praised them for their efforts in rooting out crime in the province.
