An elderly man was murdered at his home in the Matiwaneskop area after lunch today.

The man was busy working when he was approached by 3 men. The unknown suspects opened fire on him, before stealing his Isuzu bakkie and using it as a getaway vehicle.

The K9 Unit responded  and the vehicle was found abandoned about 5km from the victim’s home.

The gunshot victim was rushed to a nearby clinic, where he was declared dead.

The armed suspects are still at large, and are being sought by police and K9 officers.
